Delenn Like all of Brendan's music, this track is unique and special. No one song of his sounds like another, and each tells its own unique story. This one may take a little time, and a few listens, before you really get it, or it may come immediately. Either way, take your time and savour this one, because it almost never saw a Bandcamp release, which is explained in the song description. It's a lovely addition to his body of work, and I'm still very happy he's put it out there.

about

Overflow, a song I was certain I'd uploaded to bandcamp, but I did not.

Produced and arranged by Mario Späte in Adelaide in 2017 with myself at the piano. Someone has added digital strings add that end, I'm not sure who, but this is the only file I had, so I guess they stay.

lyrics

Darling your worries were clear from the start,
All the holes in your mind and the holes in your heart.
Filling them up had become quite an art not to overflow.

Your hesitations were clear from the start,
All the waves in between and the distance apart.
My preservation were swept off the charts.
As we overflow.

Tell me where do we fall
Where do we fall
Now you know it all
Tell me where do we fall?

I made you a mixtape
But the names weren't assigned
You heard Joni, and her River
But that's all came to mind.
It was all of the things I had wanted to tell,
Said through somebodies words,
And somebody else.

about

Brendan Maclean Sydney, Australia

Australia's indie pop prince made waves internationally with the anthem break-up single Stupid.

Brendan followed this up with a dizzying display of talent on his debut funbang1. Written in New York, it celebrated synth-drenched unabashed pop.

It was his first chart success and the music video House of Air went down in legend as one of the most iconic of the decade.
